Meetings: From September through June we meet on the second Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 10 am followed at noon by a light lunch. We meet at the US Bank Community Room, 131 North El Camino Real, Encinitas CA.
Charitable Activities: We support education for all ages by volunteering for literacy programs, distributing books via the First Book Project in support of the Community Resource Center, and by establishing an endowment at Mira Costa College to fund scholarships for local students. We also use various methods to raise funds to support our philanthropies.
Monthly social events: On the third Monday of the month we schedule dinner or lunch out at a local restaurant. On the third Thursday of the month, one of our members hosts a cards/games afternoon. On the last Monday of the month one of our members hosts our book club.
History: In 1931 fourteen women met in Solana Beach to form a women’s club for the San Dieguito area. At that time the area included Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Del Mar, Encinitas, Leucadia, Olivenhain, Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach. The club grew quickly and in 1933 joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) as the San Dieguito Woman’s Club (SDWC).
